Deep Calls to Deep
Psalm 42:7
An invitation to step away from the noise, listen beneath the
surface, and become more attentive to your soul and to the
presence of God.
Slow Space - Sacred Space
Our lives are filled with noise, activity, and distraction. Spiritual direction creates space to slow down, listen more deeply, and notice what is happening within you and where God may be present.
What Is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a place to bring your real self—your faith, relationships, decisions, disappointments, hopes, doubts, or simply a desire to know God more deeply. God meets us in the whole of our lives and is always drawing us more deeply toward himself. Together, we learn to pay attention to that divine pull—to what is happening within you and where God may already be present and at work.
My role is to walk with you along the way. I listen, ask questions, and sometimes offer a practice or a different way of seeing something that may help you go deeper. I’m not there to give you answers, but to help you listen more deeply to yourself and to God—and discern what may be inviting your attention or response.
Typically, you meet with a Spiritual Director for an hour once a month. We begin with sacred silence, followed by conversation about whatever feels in need of attention. Spiritual direction relationships may last several months or several years.
Reasons to Engage a Spiritual Director
Facing an important decision and wanting space to discern where God may be leading.
Going through change or transition and trying to understand what this new season is asking of you.
Feeling spiritually dry or disconnected from practices that once nourished your faith.
Wanting to deepen your prayer life or explore new ways of connecting with God.
Wrestling with disappointment, grief, or difficult circumstances and asking, “Where is God in this?”
Wanting to live more intentionally with God—paying closer attention to what matters most and where God may be inviting you to grow or respond.
My Approach
As a Spiritual Director, I primarily provide a listening and prayerful place for you to reflect on your journey. Sometimes we need help seeing God’s light and presence in our circumstances. I ask open-ended questions to help you explore where you may be encountering God and find meaning and calling in the midst of your circumstances.
At times, I may offer a spiritual practice or a different way of seeing something for you to consider. The path forward, however, always remains your own.
Experience & Training
My training as a Spiritual Director through Selah provided formal preparation for a ministry of spiritual companionship that has developed over more than 25 years.
My ministry has included walking with people through seasons of growth, change, questioning, discernment, and loss, as well as pastoral care, spiritual formation and discipleship, prayer and retreat ministry, and the formation of lay chaplains through Community of Hope.
Spiritual Direction brings these threads together. My role is to walk with you along the way—not determining the path for you, but helping you pay attention to yourself, to God, and to what may be unfolding in your life.
